My study was based on a portrait by Van Gogh, 1888
Conservators at the J. Paul Getty museum in Los Angelis conducted a comprehensive technical examination in order to learn more about van Gogh’s execution of the painting ‘Portait of a peasant’. See ‘the painting from the canvas up‘
I employed several of van Gogh’s techniques and colour selections in my version of the painting.
